Summit Surgery Center
SERVING LOVELAND, FORT COLLINS, GREELEY, LONGMONT & AREAS NEARBY IN COLORADO
In November 2015, Kirk Eye Center opened a new outpatient surgery center. It is conveniently located in the same building as our main Eye Center, ensuring that all of your care can be completed in one place. Kirk Eye Center and Summit Surgery Center are in Loveland, near the Promenade Shops at Centerra.
Dr. John Kirk spent a great deal of time planning the surgery center in order to ensure it meets his high standards of care and delivers an exceptional patient experience. Dr. Kirk believes in providing the highest quality patient care available anywhere in the northern Colorado area, and he is always working to make sure the new surgery center delivers the best experience possible. We are constantly refining our processes to continue achieving these unparalleled levels of excellence.

Fully Licensed and Accredited Outpatient Surgery Center
Our outpatient surgery center is fully licensed and accredited by Medicare and The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is the most rigorous of the certifying agencies for ASC’s. It is an independent, non-profit organization that accredits and certifies approximately 21,000 healthcare organizations and programs within the United States. This accreditation and certification is recognized throughout the United States as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting the highest performance standards. The accreditation process is complicated and designed to ensure that a surgery center lives up to a higher level of standards, responsibilities and requirements regarding the level of patient care delivered.
State-of-the-Art Technology and Amenities
All equipment used at the surgery center is state-of-the-art, and we feature patient and family centered amenities to ensure a comfortable experience. Outside of the operating room, the pre- and post-op area contains beds so that all patients can relax for as long as necessary before being released.
All technology used at the surgery center is provided by leading manufacturers of ophthalmology equipment:
- Phacoemulsifier – This is the primary instrument used for all cataract surgery procedures. This state-of-the-art device transmits ultrasonic vibrations to a small probe in order to break up the cataracts. This facilitates a safer and more effective removal of cataracts during your procedure.
- Microscope – Simultaneous video display of microscopic images allows the entire surgical team to assist with procedures. This helps us to make procedures safer, and our patients more comfortable.
Highly Trained and Experienced Staff
Our surgery center is staffed by a high quality team with many years of experience:
- Our Clinical Director has more than 20 years of experience with perioperative nursing. She is responsible for much of the care you receive during all phases of your surgery.
- Our registered nurses (RNs) have extensive experience in surgery center environments. One nurse works in the operating room, while the other provides care in the pre- and post-op area.
We also have certified surgical technicians. Many of the surgery center staff members also work in the adjoining Kirk Eye Center, so you will be seeing familiar faces when you arrive for your procedure. It not only ensures that our staff is highly trained and experienced, but it promotes greater familiarity with our patients and their unique individual needs.
