Dr. King graduated Magna Cum Laude from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He obtained a Master’s degree in history from Indiana University and his medical degree from the University of Colorado where he was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency in 1985 at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and a Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He and Dr. DeSantis established Children’s Eye Physicians in 1993. Dr. King was chosen as one of 5280 Magazine’s ‘Top Docs’ in 1998 and 2005.
